These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Bill Snap Android application ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. --- ## ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. About the App Bill Snap is an **offline-first** expense tracker and bill scanning Android application that allows users to scan receipts, manually record expenses, organise them into categories, set budgets, export reports, and create local backups. The App is provided **as is** for personal, non-commercial use. --- ## โœ… 2. Eligibility By using Bill Snap you confirm that you are: - At least **13 years old** (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, whichever is higher) - Legally able to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction Bill Snap is not directed at children under 13. See our [Privacy Policy](README.md#-childrens-privacy) for more. --- ## ๐Ÿชช 3. Your Account & Data Bill Snap does not require an account. All bills, items, budgets, monthly needs, instant transaction templates, custom categories, and settings are stored **locally on your device**. You are solely responsible for: - The accuracy of the data you enter or extract - Securing your device and any backup files you create - Maintaining your own copies of important data โ€” uninstalling the App will permanently delete all data unless you exported a backup first --- ## ๐Ÿค– 4. AI Extraction (Optional) AI bill extraction is **optional** and requires you to provide your own Anthropic API key. - When AI is enabled, the bill image, PDF, or extracted Excel text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for structured-data extraction. - You are responsible for any costs or charges incurred against your Anthropic account. - Anthropic's terms apply to data sent to their API: ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.anthropic.com/legal - Bill Snap does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-extracted data. **You must review the extracted result before saving.** When AI is disabled, the App falls back to an on-device rule-based parser and no data leaves your device. --- ## ๐Ÿ“ข 5. Backups & Exports Bill Snap allows you to create `.bsnap` backup files and export your data as PDF or Excel. These files are saved to your device's Downloads folder. You acknowledge that: - Backup files contain a copy of your local financial data and should be handled with care - Sharing or transmitting backup or exported files exposes the contents of those files to the recipient - Bill Snap is not responsible for what happens to a backup file once it leaves the App --- ## ๐Ÿšซ 7. Acceptable Use You agree **not** to: - Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App, except where permitted by applicable law - Use the App to store, process, or transmit unlawful, infringing, or fraudulent records - Tamper with, disable, or attempt to circumvent any security or licensing measures of the App - Use the App to violate any third-party rights, including Anthropic's or Google's terms when those services are invoked - Resell, rent, or sublicense the App or any extracted output as a paid service without prior written consent --- ## ๐Ÿงพ 8. Intellectual Property The Bill Snap name, logo, design, and all original code are owned by the App's developer. You receive a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of the data **you** create in the App (your bills, categories, budgets, etc.). --- ## ๐Ÿ”„ 9. Updates We may release updates to add features, fix bugs, or improve security. Updates may change the App's behaviour. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated version and these Terms. --- ## โŒ 10. Termination You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may, at our discretion, discontinue or modify the App, remove features, or stop supporting older versions, without prior notice. Termination does not delete backup files or exports you have already saved outside the App. --- ## โš ๏ธ 11. Disclaimer of Warranties The App is provided **"as is" and "as available"** without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that: - The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times - AI-extracted data will be accurate or complete - The App is suitable for tax filing, accounting, legal, or other regulated purposes โ€” it is a personal tracking tool, not financial advice --- ## ๐Ÿ’ฅ 12. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, **in no event will the developer of Bill Snap be liable** for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from: - Your use of, or inability to use, the App - Loss or corruption of locally stored bills, items, budgets, or backups - Errors in AI-extracted data - Third-party services invoked by the App (Anthropic, Google Play, Google AdMob, your email client, etc.) Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied with the App is to stop using it and uninstall it. --- ## ๐ŸŒ 13. Third-Party Services The App relies on the following third-party services when you opt into the corresponding features.
